Students unions from Khonsa block, Chessore Area, Salomi Village Students\u2019 Union (SVSU) and Yimkhiung Students\u2019 Union Kohima (YSUK) have extended support to Yimkhiung Akher\u00fc Arihako (YAA) 14-day ultimatum issued to the Directorate of School Education Kohima to address the shortage of government teachers across the Yimkhiung jurisdiction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a joint statement, the students\u2019 unions of Khongsa Block, representing 21 villages- Moya, Amikiuro, Betang, Fakim, Hakkomute, Khong, Khongjiri, Khongka, Khongsa, Longkhimvong, Lopfukhong, Mimi, Mutingkhong, Penkim, Salomi, Sangtsuwong, Thanamir, Thruntsuvong, Tsungdang, Tsurevong, and Vongtsuwong Village Students\u2019 Unions, expressed full support for YAA demand. The joint students\u2019 unions emphasizing their support for YAA\u2019s demand, highlighted the restriction of admission processes within Khongsa Block until further notice. Heads of institutions under Khongsa Block further have been instructed to comply with this directive immediately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
While backing YAA\u2019s call, the unions hoped for timely and positive responses from the department, emphasizing that the shortage of teachers hampers the growth and progress of schools and students. The department has been urged to act judiciously to avoid potential adverse consequences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Extending total support, the joint Students\u2019 Unions of Chessore Area comprising of the villages of Chessore, Y\/Anner, Sotokur, Longtoker, K.Aiponger, K.Longsor, Kelonger, Kiussowungto, Shiponger, Kiutsukiur, Kephor, Huker and Kuthur village said the mute and lackadaisical attitude of the department towards the genuine demand of the YAA despite numerous appeal was questionable and uncalled for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a press release, Media Cell Chessore Area Students Bodies, in accordance with the YAA\u2019s directive restricted admission processes to any government schools for the academic session within the whole Chessore area. Heads of institutions\/Headmasters\/Teacher-in-Charges under Chessore area have also been directed that all admission processes be kept in abeyance until further order from the office of YAA. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
With a commitment to the students\u2019 community and recognizing the significance of education, SVSU in its representation has firmly conveyed to stand behind YAA\u2019s demand, urging the concerned department to consider the matter. Meanwhile, SVSU has instructed the head of GHS, Salomi, to adhere to the directives of YAA until further notice. While extending support, the Yimkhiung Students\u2019 Union Kohima (YSUK) reaffirmed to stand with the YAA till the demand was fulfilled.
