College of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry, CAU (I), Jalukie conducted a free \u201clivestock infertility awareness cum treatment camp\u201d on February 24 at Council Hall, Punglwa-A Village. H, CAU Jalukie, Peren informed that the programme was funded by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) \u2013 National Research Centre on Equines, Hissar, Haryana under North Eastern Hill (NEH) \u2013 Component.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The programme was conducted by expert faculty and students under the team leadership of assistant professor, department of veterinary gynecology and obstetrics, Dr. Tukheswar Chutia, and the supervision of the dean of the Veterinary College, Jalukie, Nagaland, Dr. I. Shakuntala.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As a part of the programme, a technical session was held in which various topics related to livestock infertility and diseases were delivered by the resource persons followed by a separate farmer-scientist interaction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The topics entitled, \u201cinfertility issues in livestock, its impact and management\u201d, \u201cparasitic diseases affecting animal reproduction and its management\u201d, \u201ccommon animal diseases in Nagaland, prevention & treatment\u201d and \u201czoonotic diseases of public health importance\u201d were delivered by Dr. Tukheswar Chutia; Dr. Sonjoy Kr. Borthakur, Professor; Dr. Neithono Kuotsu, assistant professor and Dr. Raghubir Singh, assistant professor, respectively. Free animal health checkups, treatment and vaccination were also carried out during the programme.
