In a statement, PRO &amp; Spokesperson (Defence), said that the Assam Rifles personnel, acting on a tip-off about the movement of insurgents for carrying out abduction and extortion in Sangsa village area, launched an operation on the intervening night of March 3 and 4. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>Soon after intercepting the cadres, PRO said that the AR troops were fired upon by the cadres and a gunfight broke out during which one insurgent was killed while another was apprehended. PRO said that one automatic rifle, automatic pistol, grenades, ammunition and other war-like stores were recovered.
