A press release by Nagaland State Legal Services Authority (NSLSA) PRO stated that the Lok Adalat was held in Dimapur, Kohima, Phek, Peren, Zunheboto, Mokokchung and Wokha districts at District Court premises headed by chairperson\/secretary of the DLSAs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>During the sittings, NSLSA said a total of 178 cases\/disputes were disposed of out of the total 973 disputes\/matters\/cases listed for compromise settlement, which includes cases in the pending stage as well as in pre-litigation stage, mostly in the category of bank recovery, Motor Accident Cases Tribunal (MACT) and other cases&#8217; viz. public utility i.e., telephone bills and matrimonial disputes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>NSLSA said the settlement amount involved in some of the cases amounts to a total of Rs. 34,15,81,243. The amount was mutually agreed for payment between the litigants (or) parties who are involved in a dispute. The settlement amount also includes fine money, bank recovery money, money suits, compensation money. A MACT case was taken up through video conferencing for Tuensang DLSA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>NSLSA said the core aim of the People\u2019s Court arrangement was to settle disputes\/cases at the pre-litigation stage i.e., even before the case was filed in court.
