All India Congress Committee (AICC) Media Coordinator Mathew Antony and NPCC chairman of the Public Grievances Department, Mashenlo Kath, led a Congress delegation to Wokha on March 25. Addressing media persons at its office, the party criticised the policies of the BJP-led government and highlighted on the economic, social, political, and economic injustices faced by the people of the country in general and Nagaland in particular.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Responding to queries about their expectations from Wokha, as PDA candidate Dr. Chumben Murry was from Wokha district, Antony expressed optimism as people have realized their mistakes. He cited an example of the recent comments made by Forest minister C.L John on the human-elephant conflict, and claimed that such instances were \u201cmaking the residents of Wokha increasingly aware in choosing its representatives\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Antony further claimed that educational institutions, infrastructure, and medical facilities in Wokha were pathetic and that should be enough reason for the citizens of Wokha to cast their vote for Congress.
Meanwhile, the congress party revealed their ongoing preparations for their campaign, including plans to enlist senior Congress leaders as star campaigners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On the Eastern Nagaland People\u2019s Organisation\u2019s decision not to participate in election, Antony said AICC was deliberating on the matter. He assured further clarity on the party\u2019s stance soon from the NPCC president. He therefore appealed to Wokha\u2019s people to support Congress candidate S.
