Department of Education, Nagaland University and Kohima Campus in collaboration with Phom Lempong (PBCA) organised a two-day community outreach programme at Mission Center, Longleng on May 5 and 6.
A press release by executive secretary, PBCA, N. Tialemba Phom informed that the outreach programme was organised for teachers, students and parents of Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya and Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Avasiya Vidyala hostels, Longleng, under Samagra Shiksha department of School Education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the outreach programme, topics such as \u201cstudents and teacher\u2019s relationship\u201d, \u201cteaching skills\u201d, \u201cmethods of Teaching science and mathematics\u201d, \u201ccounseling skills\u201d, \u201cmethods and strategies of teaching\u201d, \u201cprofessional ethics and accountability\u201d, \u201cunderstanding Child psychology\u201d, \u201cimportance of mental health and the topic for the parents were community participation in school education\u201d, \u201cresponsible parenthood\u201d, and \u201cChallenges and issues in education\u201d were discussed.
Resource persons for the community outreach programme were Associate Professor, Dr. Limala, Asst. Professor, Narola Chuba, research scholar, Kedvoneinuo Solo Thong, and Research Scholar all from Education Department, Kohima Campus, Nagaland University, Megosielie Khate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Associate Professor, Dr. Lima, in her greetings and exhortation, delivered a brief explanation about the outreach and spoke on the main focus, which was to reach unreached students, teachers and parents.
She dwelled on the role of teachers, who played important role not only in the student\u2019s life, but even in society.
She also talked about the challenges and pressure in family and social life, and encouraged teachers to be strong in their spiritual life.
Meanwhile, Asst. Professor, Narola Chuba, in her short speech, advised teachers to think of themselves as coaches and mentors and not as teachers.
She also advised teachers to encourage students to read Bible and to equipped students, help them in developing their skills, and not teach them only what they as teachers knows.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
