Tesinlo Semy and general secretary Shatilo Kent urged the Rengma people to transcend narrow divisions such as clanism, groupism, and regionalism, and instead, elect individuals who were capable, honest and righteous for the progress and upliftment of Rengma society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>Further, RH implored every candidate to participate in free and fair elections and refrain from any form of malpractice, booth capturing, or violence that could disrupt the voting process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>The hoho also called upon all colony general public, Ward GBs and leaders to ensure that their respective colonies\/wards witness peaceful polls. RH called upon all to create a conducive environment for peaceful voting and ensure that polling was held without any untoward incidents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>LSU backs NSF stance<\/strong><br>Lotha Students\u2019 Union (LSU) has extended its \u201cfull support\u201d to the Naga Students Federation (NSF)\u2019s stand on the indigenous representation in the ensuing election to the municipal and town councils scheduled to be held in Nagaland on June 26, 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>NSF recently stressed on the participation of indigenous Nagas \u2014 by blood and not adoption\u2014 to contest the forthcoming ULB polls and also exclusion of women candidates married to non-local or off springs of such marriages. In a press note, LSU president Lirhonthung E Kithan and general secretary Chanpenthung said that the union \u201cfully aligns\u201d itself with the decision taken by the NSF recognising the importance of safeguarding the interest and aspirations of the indigenous Naga people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>LSU expressed belief that such measures were essential in preserving the cultural identity and integrity of Naga community.
