Chairman, PAC, Dr. TM Lotha in a press release said the PAC was against the banning of any civil society group and social organizations by underground factions in any manner, since the need of the hour for the Nagas was not to distance themselves from one another but for all sections to work towards understanding and oneness.
\u201cTowards this end, the PAC has been working overtime meeting all the underground factions, various civil societies and tribal hohos to bring about reconciliation and unity among the Nagas so as to facilitate the fnal solution to the Naga political issue,\u201d Lotha said. He also said that banning each other would only hamper the goal of reconciliation and unity.
Meanwhile, lauding the initiative of the Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR) instituted through the efforts of civil societies and the Church, PAC also congratulated the Forum for the \u201cprogress\u201d made in the previous two Chiang Mai meets and wished the Forum all success.
PAC also urged all citizens to extend their fullest support and cooperation to the Forum so that the longing of the Naga people for peace was achieved.
Further, PAC appealed to all underground factions to maintain restraint and to totally stop fratricidal killings, as \u201cfratricidal killings are only creating more hatred and distrust within the Naga family.\u201d
