This would be the first round of Intensive Pulse Polio Immunization (IPPI) for the year 2009 and a total of 2,784 IPPI booths have been set up for the purpose. An official bulletin informed that the joint director, (IEC) R.R. Chasie through a press release has expressed gratitude to all sections of the people and all agencies for their co-operation in the past and requested them to once again come forward to ensure that all eligible children receive the \u201ctwo drops of life\u201d.  The joint director said that the state had not detected even a single case of polio since 1997 and attributed it to the active participation of all concerned.
