Bamunpukhuri Village: Villagers of Bamunpukhuri Village observed WED by planting trees at Village playground compound, under the theme, \u201cLand Restoration, Desertification and Drought Resilience\u201d, organised by Hangia Jalai Hosom (Organisation) Bamunpukhuri Village.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br><strong>Hill Star School: <\/strong>Hill Star School (HSS), Sheanghah Tangten village, Mon, observed the WED in the school compound. A press release by HSS stated that administrator, HSS, Nahnyei Konyak spoke on the importance of loving and associating with the three basic components of life, \u201cGod, Nature, and Culture\u201d, stressing that these components are the primary concern where a child should be taught as the greatest part of education. Students were also informed on the importance of keeping the environment clean and the need for planting more trees and saving water. Students and staffs later engaged in cleaning classrooms and school compound.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br><strong>MMC: <\/strong>Mount Mary College (MMC), Ch\u00fcmoukedima observed WED by organising mass cleanliness drive under the initiative of NSS MMC, in Collaboration with Eco-Green Club MMC. The clean up drive commenced from Ch\u00fcmoukedima first gate junction till the College premises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br><strong>Atoizu Subdivision: <\/strong>Atoizu Subdivision celebrated WED across various offices and institutions, with office of the Additional Deputy Commissioner in Atoizu, Zunheboto, spearheading the celebrations, with active involvement from sub divisional offices of Forest Department, PWD (R&amp;B), and numerous government schools throughout the wards of towns and villages within Atoizu Subdivision, Zunheboto. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A press release from the office of the ADC stated that the event included tree planting ceremony in all government offices, while staffs in all government offices participated in clean up drive, targeting removal of plastic waste and the promotion of eco friendly materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Zisaji Presidency College: The National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit, Zisaji Presidency College (ZPC) Kiphire, observed WED under the theme, \u201cMission Life- Land Restoration, Desertification &amp; Drought Resilience\u201d, by planting trees in and around the college campus. Volunteers from RRC and NCC Cadets (Boys &amp; Girls) also participated in the plantation drive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br><strong>STYO: <\/strong>Commemorating WED, Satoi Town Youth Organization (STYO) held a plantation drive at Satoi Town headquarter on June 3. The drive was actively participated by various government officials as well as GBs and citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Unity Christian Higher Secondary School: Students and Teachers of Unity Christian Higher Secondary School Diphupar observed WED at the School premises under the theme \u201cLand Restoration, Desertification and Drought Resilience\u2019\u2019 by planting tree saplings in and around the Diphupar Village.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Along with the rest of the word, Nagaland observed the World Environment Day (WED) on June 5, by holding social works and tree plantations across all districts.
