{"id":4270,"date":"2008-08-09T00:18:04","date_gmt":"2008-08-09T00:18:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2008\/08\/09\/nscn-i-m-maj-shot-dead\/"},"modified":"2008-08-09T00:18:04","modified_gmt":"2008-08-09T00:18:04","slug":"nscn-i-m-maj-shot-dead","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2008\/08\/09\/nscn-i-m-maj-shot-dead\/","title":{"rendered":"NSCN (I-M) \u2018Maj\u2019 shot dead"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/>An NSCN (I-M) activist identified as \u2018Maj\u2019 Ningtam Tangkhul was shot dead by unidentified persons at Jalukie town under Peren district, Friday morning, sources said. <br \/>Late Ningtham, reportedly the NSCN (I-M) town commander of Jalukie and married to a Zeliang lady, was ambushed by gunmen, some 500 meters away from an Assam Rifles post.<br \/>However, the NSCN (I-M) in a press release alleged that Ningtam was killed in cold blood by personnel of 28Bn. \u2018C\u2019 company of the Assam Rifles. <br \/>NSCN (I-M) said the AR commander Maj. James, had invited Ningtam to the latter\u2019s camp for some unknown matter. \u201cMaj. James was carrying Maj. Ningtam in his vehicle. But on reaching the spot near the Assam Rifle Camp, Maj. Ningtam was made to alight and shots came from behind to kill him on the spot. A country made .22 pistol with five rounds was found placed on his body,\u201d the NSCN (I-M) alleged.<br \/>The NSCN (I-M) also said there was every indication of the involvement of \u2018K-group\u2019 in the incident.
