\nDIMAPUR: Nagaland Medicine Dealers Association (NMDA) has condemned the incident on January 15 where one of its member, Kajal Mazumder, proprietor M\/s New Medicine House, west yard, Dimapur was shot by an unidentified gunman on January 15 at his shop premises. NMDA president, A. Ato Yepthomi in a press note appealed authorities’ in-charge for appropriate action against the culprit and also stated that NMDA would not hesitate to go for indefinite strike if such incidence happened in future.
\nPreparations for R-DAY
\nDIMAPUR: About twenty contingents from armed forces, NCC, ex-servicemen, scouts & guides, schools and colleges are expected to take part in the ceremonial parade on Republic Day celebration at Kohima. Parade practice would start January 21 and final full dress rehearsal on January 14.
\nAccording to an official bulletin, bands from 26th Assam Rifles and the Nagaland Police would participate in ceremonial parade in the morning function. Exhibition stalls would also be put up by agriculture, rural development and veterinary departments.
\nMeanwhile, parade practice for Republic day celebration at Dimapur would begin from January 19, 7:30 a.m. SP Dimapur Liremo Lotha has informed participating contingents to report at DDSC stadium.
\nInt’l domestic worker’s day
\nDIMAPUR: Domestic Worker’s Movement of Nagaland (DWMN) would celebrate ‘International Domestic Worker’s Day’ on January 17 at 9 am at Assisi hall, Lake View colony, Khermahal, Dimapur, with project officer, labour department, Yanger Aier and Sr. Teresa Joseph, MSMHC, NERDWM, as chief guest and guest of honour respectively.
\nHouse gutted in Tsg
\nTUENSANG: One house belonging to Riching Yimchunger, at 3rd NAP Sector-I, Tuensang town, was gutted Friday morning reportedly due to short circuit. According to family sources, there were no reports of any casualties however said that educational documents of Riching’s children were destroyed in the fire. The fire was doused by timely intervention of fire tenders. (Correspondent)
