NSCN (I-M) said Nagas have consistently sought political dialogue over armed confrontation. In a press note NSCN (I-M) through its MIP said: \u201cWe focus on peace, not war; we focus on solutions, not problems. We are for the peaceful coexistence of the two peoples, but we strongly oppose forced union.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
NSCN (I-M) said Nagas talk of \u201cunique history of our free country, inherent sovereign rights, and unique identity and culture.\u201d It, however, stated that merely talking about these aspects was not enough if they are not made recognized entities. While recalling the confrontations with adversaries on all fronts– east, west, north, and south– MIP stressed that confrontation alone cannot solve problems. \u201cConfrontation without negotiation is an act of militarism. Confrontation must go along with negotiation,\u201d it added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
NSCN (I-M) underscored its belief in negotiated settlements through bilateral\/multilateral talks, stating that all disputes over land, water, and international issues were ultimately resolved through negotiations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
MIP said past Indian leaders viewed Naga national resistance movement from military perspective and as such, hundreds of thousand innocent Nagas were indiscriminately arrested and ruthlessly tortured while thousands were killed or slaughtered to frighten those uncommitted weak people. However, the real revolutionary sons and daughters of the land stayed the course, it said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
