Naga Council Dimapur has slammed \u201cSumi frontal organisations from the western sector\u201d for \u201cshouting against the PAC verification drive on illegal immigrants\u201d in the media adding that the timing was \u201chighly suspect\u201d. <\/p>\n
Naga Council\u2019s Public Action Committee (PAC) Co-ordinator Joel Nillo Kath pointed out that while the newly formed Dimapur Muslim Public Forum(DMPF) was yet to pledge its support to the PAC verification drive, the Western Sumi Kukami Hoho(WSKH) and Western Sumi Students Union(WSSU) sought out to \u201cderail the verification process\u201d despite understanding the scourge of Bangladeshi problem in Nagaland. PAC said the two sought to cast aspersions on the \u201cactivity\/legality\u201d of the PAC by \u201cpressuring the government\u201d to take over PAC\u2019s role.<\/p>\n
PAC asked whether it was because the \u2018mians\u2019 (Bangladeshi migrants) in Niuland sub-division have become so \u201cdominant\u201d that they forced the \u201cminority Sumi Naga population to issue these statements?\u201d<\/p>\n
Further, PAC asked if the issue of illegal migrants was \u201ctrivial to Western Sumis\u201d or was the hue and cry over Rs.250 verification fee charged by PAC more important than protecting Naga identity?\u201d <\/p>\n
Instead, PAC asked whether it was not a cause to rejoice when illegal migrants leave Nagaland \u201cfearing PAC drive\u201d. It said if WSSU felt \u201ctremendous mental and financial harassment\u201d then it was \u201cfree to sponsor PAC activity\u201d to lessen mental and financial burden on mians.<\/p>\n
PAC pointed out to WSSU that the \u201cpoor\u201d migrants were \u201cnot so poor considering the fact that Rs.15 crore is their monthly income(avg)\u201d and asked WSSU to point out which Indian citizen(s) was harassed during PAC drive?<\/p>\n
PAC alleged that it was a tragedy for Nagas that time and again \u201coutsiders have managed to drive a wedge between us\u201d and this time it was PAC\/Naga Council versus western Sumi organisations.<\/p>\n
It said that when both WSKH and WSSU urged upon the government to take over the verification for ID, it only meant one thing \u201cdon\u2019t issue ID cards to any illegal immigrants\u201d as both knew that the no government ,including the state government was in any position to tackle influx of Bangladeshis without the help of tribal organisations, NGOs and house owners.<\/p>\n
PAC reminded WSKH and WSSU that Nagas cannot be fooled for their sake and that it would do both if they did not double speak.<\/p>\n
It said that after the February 6 gang rape the PAC\/Naga Council had been demanding on a \u201cpublic-government enterprise\u201d to tackle the influx of Bangladeshis and drew attention to the latest rape incident involving a Bangladeshi autorickshaw driver. <\/p>\n
PAC maintained it was formed basically to keep track on illegal migrants since Dimapur had become \u201c a hot bed of rape,murders,contract killings, theft, extortions etc\u201d with most of the accused being \u201cillegal migrants\u201d <\/p>\n
It said unless certain mechanism was in place like the PAC-V drive to assist police and administration, the general view was that it would be impossible to live in Dimapur.<\/p>\n
PAC further claimed that Dimapur has also become the \u201chub of jihadi activities\u201d and that it was no secret that ISI uses Bangladeshi elements to strike terror all over India by outfits likeHuJi who are able to mingle among the 2 to 3 crore migrant Bangaldeshis in India.<\/p>\n
PAC reminded WSKH and WSSU about the threat of \u201cbloodshed\u201d to Naga students in Assam and other parts of India,issued by Assam Muslim Welfare Union(AMWU)if the PAC issued V-cards in the wake of the February 6 gang rape.<\/p>\n
It said on investigation, it was confirmed that there was no such AMWU registered in Assam and it was concluded that AMWU was Dimapur-based having links with global Islamic bodies. <\/p>\n
PAC went on to add that Naga Council had demanded that the ministry of home affairs(MHA) probe links between ISI, AMWU and terror outfits. <\/p>\n
It said since India\u2019s security agencies also admit ISI was spreading its tentacles to Bangladesh-North East sector, MHA should probe bomb blasts in Dimapur and AMWU write up. <\/p>\n
It said those behind the AMWU write up were the same people campaigning to derail the PAC verification drive \u201cfor reasons obvious to everyone.\u201d<\/p>\n
PAC said the statements of WSKH and WSSU \u201cbetray such collaboration with unholy elements\u201d and if there be bloodshed by jihadi elements, should not these two be \u201cheld directly responsible and answerable to Naga people?\u201d<\/p>\n
PAC asserted that influx of hordes of Bangladeshis posed the greatest crisis in Naga history and urged government and like minded mass-based organisations like WSKH and WSSU to \u201cstop their criticisms and join hands with PAC\/Naga Council before it\u2019s too late.\u201d It also informed that all persons verified would be informed through newspapers to collect their V Cards .<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
