Joint Council Forum (JCF) of Churches Colony, NST Colony, and Middle Point– has lamented that certain individuals with vested interests misinterpreted its initiative to collect voluntary nominal monthly fee for supporting its office\u2019s daily operation, and tarnished its reputation on social media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a statement, the forum\u2019s convener and secretary clarified that the joint council\u2019s formation and collection were based on suggestions and advice from the business community, assuring transparency and accountability in operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In response to the longstanding issue of multiple unions and associations collecting monthly contributions ranging from Rs 200 to Rs 2,000 from business establishments in Clock Tower area here encompassing three colonies, several complaints were received from landowners and the business community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To address this, a joint meeting was convened by the three colony councils, during which crucial issues faced by the business community and ways to explore solutions were discussed.
After constructive discussions, suggestions and advice were received from the business community to form a joint council. Consequently, the JCF was established to oversee affairs related to the business community\u2019s well-being.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To ensure the forum\u2019s effectiveness, they claimed the business community suggested setting up an office, which was established and had been operational since April 2024. To support the office\u2019s daily operations, they said a voluntary nominal monthly fee collection was suggested by the business community, emphasising that this contribution was voluntary and not forcibly collected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They also expressed their gratitude to the law enforcement agencies for their efforts in taking action against the unauthorised operations of various unions and associations in our area. However, they alleged that despite their best efforts, the practice of collection still persisted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hence, they requested the administration and law enforcement agencies to consider taking additional steps to address this issue and prevent such activities from continuing in the area.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
