Indian Idol Prashant Tamang on Saturday night regaled Dimapurians by singing popular songs of Hindi movies and Nepali songs from his album at DDSC stadium here, graced by Shri. MC Konyak, Minister for Forest and MLA Azheto Zhimomi as chief guest and guest of honour respectively.\nThousands of all age group from Nagaland and neighbouring state Assam cheered lustily for the Idol, who sung 14 blockbuster hit songs from Hindi movies like ‘Bhighe haut tera’, ‘Mitwa’, ‘Sawaariya’ ‘Musu Musu’, ‘jabse tere naina’, ‘Kabhi kabhi aditi zindagi mein’ etc and other Nepali numbers sending waves of euphoria among the frenzy crowd comprising of all communities.
\nEarlier, the Minister thanked the Gorkha Union for acting as a bridge and also for taking initiative to bring the Indian Idol in Dimapur, through the performance of which, youngsters here can boost their confidence and gear up for such reality competitions in future. He also lauded Prashant Tamang as the ‘Champion of Indian idols’ for showing ‘closeness’ to the Naga people by coming to Nagaland.
\nMLA Azheto Zhimomi who also spoke before the concert called upon the youth of the northeast to show the world that we love the ‘path of peace through music’ despite insurgency problem and added with the amount of talent the youth possess, “we can also achieve by generating talent into something beautiful.”
\nPrashant Tamang, on taking the stage thanked the entire community of Nagaland for voting for him in large numbers which enabled him to win the Indian idol title and said “I’m here because of your vote.”
\nMeanwhile, the platform was also shared by two aspiring singers from NSACS Naga Idol 3 namely Limatula and Lipok who entertained the audience at the concert during the idol’s break time.
\nIt may be mentioned here, the concert is being held in aid of Gorkha cultural hall, flood victims and social welfare activities of the union.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
