{"id":4341,"date":"2008-10-07T00:51:08","date_gmt":"2008-10-07T00:51:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2008\/10\/07\/tangkhul-community-flays-intimidation\/"},"modified":"2008-10-07T00:51:08","modified_gmt":"2008-10-07T00:51:08","slug":"tangkhul-community-flays-intimidation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2008\/10\/07\/tangkhul-community-flays-intimidation\/","title":{"rendered":"Tangkhul community flays \u2018intimidation\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/>Tangkhul Hoho Nagaland has condemned the act of intimidation and threat perception meted out to the peace loving citizen of Tangkhul community on October 2, wherein two houses of the community were raided by armed cadres suspected to be NSCN (K) at around might night at Nagaland gate.<br \/>\nExpressing constrained to release the press statement over the incident, Joseph Shingnaisui president and Aning Zimik secretary stated on the fateful night armed cadres numbering about ten first intruded into the house of one Joyson Shimray, a teacher by profession who was not at home then.<br \/>\nThe intruder then forced his wife at gun point to lead her to another house of Yangmaso Raleng by name, a retired state government officer and enquired about the presence of NSCN (IM) cadres who replied them his ignorance. Acting on the response the armed cadres resorted to &#8216;indiscriminate firing&#8217; inside the building. One of the cadres, armed with a pistol fired several rounds injuring him at his finger in the process.<br \/>\nThe hoho expressed dismay that even &#8216;slightest regard&#8217; towards women folk was not maintained and &#8216;several rounds of AK-47 were fired upon between her legs.&#8217;<br \/>\nStating that such incident of targeting the public has created fear-psychosis among the community people, the hoho termed the incident as &#8216;most unfortunate&#8217; and &#8216;highly contemptuous&#8217;, as Naga people at this juncture is striving for peace and reconciliation amongst warring factions under the banner of &#8220;Peace and Reconciliation forum&#8221;. The present incident if continued &#8216;unabated&#8217; will jeopardize the hard earn reconciliation process which is underway, the hoho lamented.<br \/>\nMeanwhile, the Tangkhul Students Union Dimapur (TSUD) has expressed &#8216;deeply anguished and pained&#8217; over the attack on two of its elderly people Aso Raleng and Joyson Shimrah both church deacon and a retired govt official and school principal respectively.<br \/>\nA release issued by Johnwish said such heinous act committed upon the elderly and a lady wife by the &#8216;so called&#8217; national workers whatsoever faction they belong to is a &#8216;shameful act&#8217; and deserve condemnation by all right thinking human beings.
