For the first time in Mon district, Summer Science camp 2024 was organized at Tizit from date July 24 to 27, sponsored by minister of Health and Family Welfare, P. Paiwang Konyak, and organized by Zen Coaching Centre, under the initiative of Sustainable Development Goals Innovation Participatory Action Research Initiative 2.0.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The project was supported by SDG Coordination Centre, Planning & Transformation Department, Government of Nagaland. A press statement by Zenwang Konyak, a Ph.D. Student from Kohima Science College, Jotsoma, stated that practical\u2019s were led by event co-convener, Shayei Konyak, where on the first session, frog dissection was taught. The event included handling scientific equipments, science experiments, microscopy, telescopy and robotics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Chemistry experiments were taught by Daisy T Konyak (B.Sc, Chemistry) Physics experiments by Pewang T Konyak (Diploma, Electrical and Electronics Eng), and Ngamlih Konyak (B.Tech. IT), Zoology experiments by Shayei Konyak (B.Sc. Zoology), and Botany experiments by Zenwang Konyak (Ph.D. Scholar, Botany).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Engineers from NagaBots also held two days workshop about robotics and engineering, where the participants learned how to make LED glow, SYON Car, Arduino bot movement, hand game circuit, idea generation session, and water rocket. The team also demonstrated about drone flight, working principle etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Major Revender Bhattof Assam Rifles Tizit also paid a visit to the event to encourage students, who emphasized more on science and technology education and to pursue career in future.
The release added that a total of 37 students from class\u2019s 5 to 12 from nine schools from Tizit enrolled for the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
