In a boost to the Congress in Nagaland, the party officially welcomed nine leaders from Phek district to the party at a function held at Congress Bhavan, Kohima on August 1. They were previously affiliated with the BJP, NDPP, and NPP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
M. Domeh, representing the group, highlighted their trust in Congress to address the ongoing Naga political issue. During the event, Lok Sabha MP and NPCC president S Supongmeren Jamir spoke about the state\u2019s transition to an opposition-free government vis-\u00e0-vis resolution to the Naga political issue. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He warned against stifling dissent in a democratic setup and urged all Nagas to unite, speak up collectively, and advocate for their rights. He reaffirmed the Congress party\u2019s dedication to finding a prompt solution to the political challenges facing the state. Supongmeren also criticized the Central government for misleading the Nagas with hollow promises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
