Government Middle School, Sakipheto (Pherima) celebrated golden jubilee on October 10.\nAzheto Zhimomi, MLA, 3 Dimapur\u2013III Assembly Constituency who also studied in GMS Sakipheto during 1960s graced the occasion as the chief guest. Recalling on the existence and survival of the school through contribution and support of the villagers, he said he is lucky and proud to be one of the students of Sakipheto GMS to partake in the auspicious and historic occasion of school.
\nHe called upon the gathering, especially the alumni who attended the programme to always remember and honour those pioneers who toiled to make the institute the centre to educate different students of rural areas especially western Sumi who have produced many officers and capable leaders in different fields and were serving the society today.
\nDelivering the jubilee message, MLA Azheto said that as the school had come of age, the management and teachers need to be more consistent and live up to the reputation of the school and continue to impart good education to future generations.
\nHe called upon the students to be sincere in their studies \u201cbecause no matter how good a teacher teaches it will be of no use if the students are not attentive and sincere in their studies\u201d.
\nHe further called upon the parents to pay attention to their children and monitor them if they really wanted their children to be educated. He donated a sum of rupees 1 lakh towards the school fund and rupees 5000 each to school children, male cultural group of Pherima \u2018A\u2019 and female cultural group of Pherima \u2018B\u2019 for their cultural presentation.
\nBesides MLA Azheto Zhimomi, sitting MLA Y. Hewoto Awomi also one of the past pupils of GMS Sakipheto attended the function. Alfred H. Ayemi, Head Teacher, GMS Sakipheto delivered a short speech.
