\nAddressing the PCC joint meeting on Saturday at Congress Bhavan, Pusa exuded confidence that the party would bag the lone seat in the State and also come to power at the Centre.
\nAssuring the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) that the PCC officials were fully behind them, he also reminded the party workers to live up to the expectation and ideals of the founders of the Congress party.
\nOn the Naga political issue, he said \u201cWe (Congress) are firmly committed to finding a final political solution for the people of Nagaland. The party continues to stand on our solid resolve to take every section of our people into confidence in arriving at any final political settlement of the Naga political issue.\u201d
\nHe however regretted that the Naga political struggle was presently reduced to \u201cfactionalism.\u201d
\nCondemning the atrocities perpetuated on the Christian community in Orissa and other states by VHP and Bajrang Dal activists, Pusa said \u201cany group, whether political or otherwise that acts against the principles of secularism and the concept of unity in diversity attacks the very fundamental elements of the Constitution of the country.\u201d
\nHe also congratulated Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and AICC president Sonia Gandhi for clinching the historic nuclear deal with USA.
\nRecalling the imposition of President\u2019s Rule in Nagaland earlier this year, he said the Gauhati High Court\u2019s judgment had \u201cindicted\u201d the Nagaland Assembly Speaker.
