{"id":4390,"date":"2008-10-13T01:02:46","date_gmt":"2008-10-13T01:02:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2008\/10\/13\/2-activists-shot-dead-in-assam\/"},"modified":"2008-10-13T01:02:46","modified_gmt":"2008-10-13T01:02:46","slug":"2-activists-shot-dead-in-assam","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2008\/10\/13\/2-activists-shot-dead-in-assam\/","title":{"rendered":"2 activists shot dead in Assam"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/>Two NSCN (I-M) activists were shot dead Sunday evening at Mahur town near Haflong in Assam.<br \/>\nThe deceased persons were identified as \u201cCaptain\u201d Chinaochung Chamroy, son of Changkhareng of Halang village and \u201cSgt Major\u201d Ngachanreithingpam of Phatang village both hailing from Ukhrul district.<br \/>\nMIP sources in the NSCN (I-M) said the duo was shot dead by their own comrade who had recently joined their group along with six arms from the rival NSCN (K) faction. NSCN (I-M) said it was still investigating the causes behind the incident.<br \/>\nCondolence: The  NSCN (I-M) has expressed \u201cdeep shock\u201d at  the sudden demise of \u201cCaptain\u201d Chinaochung Chamroy and \u201cSgt Major\u201d Ngachanreithingpam on Sunday at Ragaying Camp, Mahur Sub-division of NC Hills in Assam. NSCN (I-M) general staff officer, \u2018Brig\u2019 M. Joshua in a statement said the duo who served the Naga nation in true nationalist spirit \u201cbecame victims to the heinous design of deserters\u201d. Saluting the brave departed souls, the NSCN (I-M) said they shall always be remembered and cherished.
