Member of Parliament (MP) Lok Sabha, S Supongmeren Jamir, visited the landslide site at Dz\u00fcdza village on Thursday and expressed concern over the disruption caused by the landslide, which has significantly affected National Highway-29.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
NPCC through its communications department stated that the MP during his visit met with the Dz\u00fcdza village council members led by the council chairman, who shared their concerns and apprised the him on the efforts they have been making to manage the situation at the local level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jamir also met with the Western Angami People’s Organisation leaders and welcomed their opinions and inputs. He acknowledged their ongoing efforts in addressing the challenges posed by the landslide. MP assured the villagers and local organizations that he would pressurise the higher authorities to expedite the necessary repairs and ensure that the road was restored urgently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the interaction, the contractors entrusted with the construction and maintenance of the affected stretch of road assured the MP of all necessary interventions to ensure prompt repair and restoration of the affected area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
MP underscored the need for swift action to restore normalcy and ensure the safety of the residents and commuters who rely on this critical roadway. MP was accompanied by DC Kohima, joint secretary (road & bridges), executive engineer (NH), Kohima, additional superintendent of police Kohima and NHIDCL officials,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, the Nagaland Pradesh Youth Congress (NPYC) team, under the leadership of working president Keviphreo K Kuotsu, also visited the stranded vehicles at the Dz\u00fcdza landslide site and provided refreshments to the travellers.
