The Nsong Students\u2019 Union (NSU) has strongly condemned the physical assault on a minor from the community and a member of the students\u2019 union, at Diphupar-A on September 20 on the suspicion of mobile theft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a press note, NSU president Rangtalak Pame and general secretary Haireilung Newme said that the barbaric and unlawful act had caused immense physical and emotional trauma to the victim, and was currently under medical care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The union asserted that it firmly denounced any form of violence, especially against minors. The union also called for strict action against the perpetrators under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015.
NSU said it stood united in seeking justice for the minor and ensure that such incidents were not repeated in the society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Appealing the authorities concerned to conduct a thorough investigation and hold the responsible parties accountable for their actions, NSU stated that the safety and well-being of every child should be protected, stressing any violation of their rights must be addressed with utmost seriousness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
NSU also extended full support to the family of the victim during this difficult time and urged the authorities to act swiftly in bringing justice to the aggrieved.
