{"id":448500,"date":"2024-10-04T00:08:31","date_gmt":"2024-10-03T18:38:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.com\/?p=448500"},"modified":"2024-10-05T16:21:14","modified_gmt":"2024-10-05T10:51:14","slug":"nagaland-more-reports-on-observation-of-swachhata-hi-seva-2024","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2024\/10\/04\/nagaland-more-reports-on-observation-of-swachhata-hi-seva-2024\/","title":{"rendered":"Nagaland: More reports on observation of Swachhata Hi Seva 2024"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Along with the rest of the country, Nagaland celebrated Swachh Bharat Diwas 2024 on October 2, to mark the conclusion of \u201cSwachhata Hi Seva\u201d campaign 2024. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The SHS campaign, ran from September 17 to October 2, 2024, focused on three key pillars: reviving neglected areas, encouraging public participation, and improving the welfare of sanitation workers. It culminated in the celebration of Swachh Bharat Diwas on Mahatma Gandhi\u2019s birth anniversary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br><strong>Pfutsero Town Council: <\/strong>Pfutsero Town Council (PTC) organised Swachhata Hi Seva programme starting from September 13, under the theme \u201ccleanliness of nature, cleanliness of culture\u201d and culminated on October 2 with Dr. Neisatuo Mero, MLA as a special guest at town hall, Pfutsero, Phek.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>Speaking at the culmination programme, Dr. Neisatuo Mero pressed upon the importance of cleanliness of nature and culture. He gave an equation; clean culture, clean nature healthy town and community. He also gave a clarion call to the councilors and leaders to be responsible and trustworthy to the mandate given by the people on them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>He further called upon the Pfutsero town dwellers to cultivate a civic scenic sense to make Pfutsero naturally the best town. He also stressed on the importance of language which should not be a barrier but a medium of unity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>The programme was chaired by Dy. chairperson PTC, Khazu Dukru while welcome note was delivered by chairperson PTC, Mikha Kenye. Special number was presented by Nuvely Tetseo and pastor PTCRC, Solhou Sono invoke God\u2019s blessings, while the conclusion remark was delivered by ADC Pfutsero, Mhali Humtsoe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br><strong>Tening Town Council: <\/strong>As part of Swachhata Hi Seva campaign 2024, Tening Town Council (TTC) successfully carried out various activities such as mass cleanliness drive and segregation of waste in all the nine wards, schools and governmental offices, and culminated the campaign on October 2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>The culmination programme was held at Old Town hall under the chairmanship of MIS, TTC, Haipiegwang. Chairperson of the Tening Town Council, Lungchui delivered a short speech. Later, prize distribution programme was held where the cleanest ward was awarded to Ward 8 and Ward 1 respectively. Active participation award and best performance award were bagged by ward 6 and ward 2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>Satakha town 111bn, BSF Satakha: The 111bn BSF Satakha town conducted a cleanliness drive on October 2 in Satakha town as part of Swachhata Hi Seva 2024. Commanding officer Anil Kumar Sharma, along with the jawans, participated in the cleanliness drive around Satakha town.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br><strong>MGM College:<\/strong> In celebration of Gandhi Jayanti, MGM College organized a three-day cleanliness drive under the theme \u201cSwachhata Hi Seva\u201d, from October 2 to 4, led by the NSS, Eco Club, and Health and Sanitation Committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>The initiative honoured Mahatma Gandhi\u2019s values, promoted a cleaner, greener environment around the college and demonstrated the role of educational institutions in promoting sustainable living.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>In addition to cleaning efforts, students planted flowers and installed dustbins in strategic locations for long-term waste management, reinforcing cleanliness and sustainability, many participants pledged to maintain cleanliness on and off campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>The drive cleaned the college campus, Nikos Hospital, and Midland areas over the three days, collecting about 130 kg of garbage and saw participation of 70 volunteers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br><strong>LFHSS Kohima NSS Volunteers:<\/strong> A cleanliness drive was conducted along the roadside, in the adopted village of Aaradura, gardens, parks, religious places, toilets, and the taxi stand by NSS student volunteers of Little Flower Hr Sec School (LFHSS), Kohima under the guidance of superior Rosemary Kazhiia, Principal Sr. Lucy Thomas, vice principal, two programme officers and teachers from September 17 to October 2 to observe the Swachhata Hi Seva week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>The volunteers also carried out a door-to-door awareness programme and organized essay and painting competitions. Additionally, the volunteers actively promoted Rashtriya Poshan Maah by visiting homes to raise awareness about the importance of complementary feeding, nutrition values, and growth monitoring. The Swachhata Hi Seva week concluded with the student volunteers taking the Swachhata pledge. A total of 162 NSS student volunteers of LFHSS, Kohima participated in the drive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br><strong>Assam Rifles: <\/strong>Assam Rifles marked the 155th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi on October 2 in Kiphire, Mon, Tuensang, Noklak, Mokokchung, and Phek districts. The event paid tribute to Gandhiji\u2019s teachings of non-violence, peace, and truth, highlighting his contributions to India\u2019s freedom struggle. Celebrations began with a Peace March involving 70 local students, promoting non-violence and compassion, followed by a cleanliness drive under the \u201cSwachh Bharat Abhiyan,\u201d where Assam Rifles personnel and villagers cleaned the surrounding areas, reflecting Gandhiji\u2019s vision of sanitation. Villagers and students enthusiastically participated, making the occasion a fitting tribute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>Elsewhere, to mark Gandhi Jayanti, Assam Rifles (AR) organized a cleanliness drive on October 2 at Puliebadze, Kohima, as part of the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign. The event united various communities, organizations, and security personnel in promoting cleanliness and environmental sustainability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>The people of Jotsoma, along with the Jotsoma Youth Organization and Jotsoma Nature &amp; Conservation Eco-tourism, were commended for their key role in the drive\u2019s success and their efforts in preserving the Puliebadze landscape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>The event saw active participation from students of Sazolie College, Science College, Nagaland University, and the Forest Department. Additionally, the Kohima Municipal Council also contributed by providing two dustbins for installation at Puliebadze, promoting a cleaner environment for visitors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>The event concluded with participants pledging to continue the nation\u2019s vision of cleanliness and environmental care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br><strong>Satakha Town Council: <\/strong>Culmination programme of Swachhata Hi Seva campaign 2024 under Satakha Town Council was celebrated at Town Hall on October 2. ADC Satakha and team captain M.S Thangpong thanked all participants and public for actively participating in the various activities during the period of the campaign and culmination programme of Swachhata Hi Seva, and Swach Bharat Diwas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br><strong>IGNOU Regional Centre, Kohima:<\/strong> The observance of Swachhata Hi Seva 2024 campaign at Regional Centre, Kohima started with Dr. Premila Swamy D., Regional Director, IGNOU Regional Centre, Kohima administering the Swacchata Pledge to the employees of the University on September 11, 2024 at the Regional Office Complex to promote and maintain cleanliness at the Regional Office and its surroundings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>As part of Swachhata Hi Seva campaign, the Regional Centre also organized a cleanliness drive on September 24 at Government Middle School, Jakhama village with the teachers and students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>The RC staff along with the teachers and students, cleaned the school premises and the surrounding areas in order to encourage adoption of a sustainable lifestyle to tackle the challenges of environmental degradation and climate change. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In her address to the teachers, students and staff of the school on the occasion, Regional Director, IGNOU RC Kohima, Dr. Premila Swamy D, emphasized the significance of clean India mission and the goals of Swachhata Hi Seva campaign to achieve the mission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>Assistant Regional Director, Dr. Mayonmi Shimray, also gave a brief framework of the varieties of activities of IGNOU and the role that it has been playing in promoting education through the ODL Mode.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>A drawing competition was organized on the theme Swacchata where 110 students participated under four categories &#8211; classes 8&amp;7, 6&amp;5,4&amp;3 and 2&amp;1.
