{"id":449319,"date":"2024-10-08T11:46:07","date_gmt":"2024-10-08T06:16:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.com\/?p=449319"},"modified":"2024-10-08T11:46:09","modified_gmt":"2024-10-08T06:16:09","slug":"nagaland-dpo-highlights-hiv-crisis-in-zunheboto","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2024\/10\/08\/nagaland-dpo-highlights-hiv-crisis-in-zunheboto\/","title":{"rendered":"Nagaland: DPO highlights HIV crisis in Zunheboto"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>12 new HIV cases detected in 2024<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">District Programme Officer (DPO) for District Integrated Strategy for HIV\/AIDS and STD, Zunheboto, Hokishe Chophy, has shared concerning statistics regarding HIV\/AIDS in Zunheboto District.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>According to a press note issued by Tokavi K Zhimo, DPO said that in 2024, 3103 individuals, including 566 pregnant women, were screened for HIV\/AIDS, with 12 individuals testing positive. Since the inception of the ART Center in Zunheboto in 2011, DPO said that a total of 442 cases have tested positive for HIV.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>Chophy highlighted that out of the current regular clients, 223 were alive and actively receiving treatment. However, 18 clients have lost track of their treatment, and 76 individuals have succumbed to the disease.<br>He also emphasized the severe challenges facing the healthcare department, particularly the lack of medical personnel at the OST and ART Center, which has worsened the situation in this remote district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>The report said that there are seven ICTC Centers in Zunheboto\u2014located at the District Hospital, Pughoboto, Aghunato, Suruhuto, Satakha, Akuluto, and a Mobile ICTC covering all areas.
