He was accompanied by advisor for Tribal Affairs and Elections, H Tovihoto Ayemi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>As per the Annual Administrative Report of the department (PWD under National Highways) for the year 2023-24, the ongoing works include development of existing two lane pavement including strengthening of Dimapur city portion road from Dillia Gate to Tragopan Jn. (NH-36 from Km160.000 to Km 166.880) (New NH-29).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>Zeliang informed that the department had issued a notice to the contractor demanding swift completion. He warned that if the contractor did not comply, the contract would be terminated and reallocated to a new contractor. This marks the second contractor handling the road work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br><strong>ROB work: <\/strong>Zeliang expressed satisfaction with the quality and progress of the ongoing Road Over Bridge work. He acknowledged delays caused by restrictions from the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation (NHIDCL), which had initially barred vehicular movement on the Dimapur bypass road leading to Patkai Junction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>However, after persistent appeals from the state government, he said vehicular movement was permitted, although the road has yet to be officially inaugurated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>Zeliang revealed that the contractor had been urged to expedite the project to meet the November deadline, particularly in light of the upcoming Hornbill Festival and festive season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>He added that the contractor already had the necessary precast blocks in stock and expressed optimism that the RoB would be completed within November, although the initial commitment was for December.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>Dept issues notice to<br>Addressing concerns about illegal encroachments along the RoB construction site, advisor Tovihoto Ayemi assured that any development-obstructing structures would not be tolerated. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He said that the district administration would take action to remove illegal constructions, though no formal notice had yet been received regarding the issue.<br>Both Zeliang and Tovihoto expressed satisfaction with the RoB\u2019s progress, highlighting the state government\u2019s commitment to its timely completion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>The RoB construction began on October 1, with an initial contract timeline of six months. However, the PWD (NH) had pushed for the project to be completed within three months, a target the contractor had agreed to meet.
