{"id":451626,"date":"2024-10-21T01:13:41","date_gmt":"2024-10-20T19:43:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.com\/?p=451626"},"modified":"2024-10-22T16:05:33","modified_gmt":"2024-10-22T10:35:33","slug":"nagaland-educational-institutions-organise-extra-curricular-activities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2024\/10\/21\/nagaland-educational-institutions-organise-extra-curricular-activities\/","title":{"rendered":"Nagaland: Educational institutions organise extra-curricular activities"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>As part of its academic and extracurricular activities, educational institutions across the state organised various programmes and activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>NAGALAND UNIVERSITY KOHIMA CAMPUS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The five-day, Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) hosted by Nagaland University, Kohima Campus concluded on October 18.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>The valedictory event was graced by Prof. Jano S. Liegise, dean of the School of Humanities and Education, as chief guest. Special guests included Pranab Kumar Sharma and Himanshu Barman from the Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE), Guwahati.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>The event was part of the \u201cEstablish, Develop, and Manage Entrepreneurship Development Centres (EDC) and Incubation Centres (IC) in the Educational Institutes of the North Eastern Region\u201d project, sponsored by the North Eastern Council (NEC) and implemented by IIE, Guwahati. Nagaland University\u2019s Kohima campus is one of the four designated Incubation Centres in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>The programme featured distinguished resource persons, including Prof. K.D. Singh, Head of the department of Management, Nagaland University; Er. H. Alongse, deputy director of DESDE, Government of Nagaland; Neikepekho Shosahie from YouthNet Kohima; and other notable experts from various sectors such as tourism, horticulture, and animal husbandry. The experts provided valuable insights into business development and sustainable entrepreneurship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>The third EDP marked the conclusion of a series of programmes conducted in September and October, with previous sessions held from September 23 to 27 and September 30 to October 4. A total of 39 candidates were selected to participate in the following Entrepreneurship Awareness Programmes (EAPs) held at Mount Olive College, Sazolie College, and St. Joseph College, Jakhama in August 2024. Ultimately, 36 participants completed the EDPs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Dr. Dhrubajyoti Bordoloi, EDC Coordinator, and Dr. Ditalak Mpanme, EDC Joint Coordinator, expressed satisfaction with the success of the programme. They noted the positive feedback received from stakeholders over the past year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Participants will have to submit Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for their proposed or existing business ventures by the end of November 2024. These reports will be evaluated by an expert committee formed by NEC and IIE, with selected proposals receiving a start-up grant of Rs. 5 lakhs each to support their incubation at the Centre, helping to transform their business ideas into successful enterprises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>PHEK GOVERNMENT COLLEGE<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"563\" src=\"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/Educational-institutions2222.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-451629\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/Educational-institutions2222.webp 1000w, https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/Educational-institutions2222-300x169.webp 300w, https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/Educational-institutions2222-768x432.webp 768w, https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/Educational-institutions2222-746x420.webp 746w, https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/Educational-institutions2222-150x84.webp 150w, https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/Educational-institutions2222-696x392.webp 696w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Staff of Aboriginal energy centre briefing on \u2018solar energy\u2019  to the students and teachers.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>B.Sc. students and faculty from Phek Government College embarked on a two-day educational field trip to Dimapur on October 15 and 16, aimed at enhancing their practical learning experiences. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The trip featured visits to several key sites, offering a range of insights into wildlife conservation, industrial training, sustainable energy, and environmental protection.<br>The group visited Zoological Park in Rangapahar, where students explored wildlife conservation initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>At the Nagaland Tool Room and Training Centre, they learned about various tools and machinery, gaining hands-on knowledge of industrial processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>The trip also included a visit to the Aboriginal Energy Center, where participants learned about sustainable energy practices. The final stop was at the Nagaland Pollution Control Board, where students were introduced to environmental protection measures.
