{"id":453197,"date":"2024-10-29T01:07:20","date_gmt":"2024-10-28T19:37:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.com\/?p=453197"},"modified":"2024-10-30T15:27:20","modified_gmt":"2024-10-30T09:57:20","slug":"dimapur-police-advisory-on-use-of-firecrackers-on-festival-days","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2024\/10\/29\/dimapur-police-advisory-on-use-of-firecrackers-on-festival-days\/","title":{"rendered":"Dimapur police advisory on use of firecrackers on festival days"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In view of the approaching festive season and in reiteration of its earlier order on the ban of fireworks, the Dimapur police have once again reminded the citizens on the ban of bursting firecrackers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>In an advisory, Commissioner of Police (CP) Dimapur, Kevithuto Sophie, appealed to all the citizens to be responsible and desist from the use of firecrackers as it was not only environmentally hazardous but could cause significant stress, fear and other health related issues in animals and human, due to its loud explosion and toxic gases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>However, on Diwali days or on any other festivals like Gurupurab etc., when such fireworks generally take place, police informed that bursting would be strictly from 8pm till 10pm only. On Christmas eve and New Year\u2019s eve, it would be from 11:55pm to 12:30 am only.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>Police informed that no items(s) other than the reduced emission firecrackers (improved crackers) and reduced emission firecrackers [green crackers: safe water and air sprinklers (SWAS) as prescribed and approved by the Petroleum and Explosive Safety Organization (PESO0] would be used during the permitted hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>Police stated that sale would only be through licensed traders, adding it would be ensured that the traders were selling those firecrackers which were permissible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>Further, it would be ensured that no fireworks were allowed in silence zones (an area 100 meters away from hospitals, nursing homes, primary and district health-care centres, educational institutions, courts, religious places or any other area that may be declared as a silence zone by the authorities concerned.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>Police reiterated that manufacture, sale and use of joined firecrackers (series crackers or laris) or fireworks containing barium salts\/lithium\/arsenic\/antimony\/led\/mercury or fire crackers generating noise level exceeding 125 dB (AI) or 145 dB (C)pk at 4 meters distance from the point of bursting would be strictly prohibited.
