\nInteracting with media persons immediately after reaching Dimapur, \u2018White Lion\u2019 frontman Mike Tramp said, “We want to give songs the fans wanted to hear” adding that they have new songs up their sleeves for the fans.
\nOn their India Tour that kick-started with performance in Shillong on Saturday night, Mike stated, “It was amazing. The India tour has been the top of my career. We play a set of new songs from our latest album.” The Danish band had launched their new records ‘Return of the Pride’ in March this year.
\nOn a query if their new album has any song that addresses social issues, the band leader replied, “How far can we use religion to get to other people’s life!” In fact, the band worldwide hits like \u2018Cry for Freedom\u2019, \u2018Broken Home\u2019, \u2018Little Fighter\u2019 among others, has become a universal anthem for social issues including Apartheid and Greenpeace movement.
\n“The lyrics of our songs were simply written without giving much thought to its meaning. But later, it has greater implication,” averred Mike, admittedly. “I am still thinking about of writing new songs that focus on social issues.”
\nMembers of \u2018White Lion\u2019 will visit and interact with students at the school for deaf at Naharbari on the outskirts of Dimapur Monday morning. Parts of the proceeds from the internationally-acclaimed rock band’s show would go to the welfare of the school.
\nThe Dimapur gig on Wednesday has been billed as the first of its kind-featuring a world renowned rock group-for the music savvy state Nagaland. According to organizers, the show will begin 2.30 pm sharp and the gate will be opened from 11 am to 2 pm. The band is expected to perform at a stretch for one and half hours.
