And when it is done by a blonde who already has the Miss UK title under her belt, it makes you sit up and notice. That&#8217;s exactly what a 20-something Brooke Johnston wants. Her foray into Bollywood is courtesy actor-director Puneet Issar, who played Duryodhan in the TV series &#8216;Mahabharat&#8217;. He has roped her in for his Hindi film &#8216;Nishchay Kar Apni Jeet Karoon&#8217;.<br \/>\n&#8216;I met Puneet through some friends in the US. He told me about the film and I liked its concept. I also liked the idea of coming to India. Bollywood tempted me to pick up this assignment. It looks like there is scope,&#8217; an optimistic Brooke, who is trying these days to memorise her Hindi dialogues, said here.<br \/>\nShe will be paired with newcomer Sikh boy Gulzar Chahal in the film that also has actress Tulip Joshi. Brooke has an impressive CV to back her up. Besides a degree in Archaeology and TV and Radio journalism, she spent 2008 covering the presidential elections in the US. &#8216;The election campaigns were a lot of fun and I had the opportunity to talk to the main candidates &#8211; (Barack) Obama, Hillary (Clinton) and (John) McCain. Obama inspires everyone, though I would have liked to see Hillary in the Oval office,&#8217; Brooke said.<br \/>\nShe has not only worked in front and behind the camera for TV shows, but also is involved actively with People for Ethical Treatment to Animals (PETA).<br \/>\nFor the model, Miss Universe aspirant, journalist, archaeologist, activist and now actor &#8211; life seems to have just begun in the dream world of Bollywood.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Covering the US presidential elections and signing up for a Bollywood Hindi film may not be in the same line of action for even a &#8216;Miss Congeniality&#8217;.
