Once hacked, accounts are often misused to solicit financial assistance from the victim\u2019s contacts or engage in other criminal activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-luminous-vivid-amber-background-color has-background\"><strong>Safety measures<\/strong>: Police urged all to enable two-step verification to enhance account security. Avoid clicking on links or installing APK files from unknown sources, not to share WhatsApp verification code, as WhatsApp will never request it. It also advised users to inform contacts immediately if their account is hacked to prevent further exploitation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Users have been advised users to recover hacked accounts promptly by reinstalling the app and secure credentials.
