\nMeanwhile, on the red carpet, Ryan Seacrest was talking about how excited he was to stand behind his appointed E!hedge on the Oscar red carpet, but the hedge was totally dwarfing Dame Seacrest.
\nIsn\u2019t there anybody at E! who can pull rank on Ryan and just tell him he has to sit out the red carpet stuff? He ruined it! (He always ruins it.) Three notes to E! producers: Seacrest doesn\u2019t know how to do a red carpet interview. He always forgets to ask what designers the stars are wearing. He talks about himself and \u201cAmerican Idol\u201d too much. Fire him. Soon.
\nSo Ryan, continuing his rude tour of the red carpets, decided to do an \u201cin depth\u201d interview with the kids from Slumdog. They are very, very young, and several of them didn\u2019t speak English. So, of course, Ryan shoved his microphone in front of their faces and asked them questions like \u201cWhat has this experience meant to you?\u201d
\nAfter the Slumdog kids came and went (with considerable grace, considering), Freida Pinto and Dev Patel came up. Freida was radiant in a gorgeous blue Galliano, but all Ryan wanted to talk about was if Freida and Dev were dating. He asked the question several different ways, and Freida and Dev tried to laugh it off politely, but Freida especially seemed annoyed. Ryan ended the interview by asking her how many men are calling her, and she shot back \u201cYou should call me, Ryan\u201d and walked away.
