Ao Students\u2019 Conference (AKM) and National Students Union of India (NSUI) Nagaland state unit have condemned the reported physical assault on a female assistant professor of Nagaland University by professor Sarat Chandra Yenisetti from the university\u2019s Zoology department on November 25, 2024 at Nagaland University, Lumami Campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a condemnation note, AKM president Lanutoshi Aier and general secretary Satemmongba expressed dismay over the incident and vehemently condemned the \u201cinhumane and heinous behaviour\u201d of professor Sarat Chandra Yenisetti.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Further, expressing deep anguish over \u201cthis gruesome and barbarous act\u201d, AKM said the professor\u2019s act has not only brought upon shame to the sanctity of the reputed institution, but also showed his \u201cwork-place unprofessionalism.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
AKM has extended sympathy to the affected individuals and urged the law enforcing agencies to ensure a thorough and unbiased investigation and award befitting punishment to the accused.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Affirming unwavering solidarity with the victims, NUSU-L, and the demands of the Lotha Students\u2019 Union, AKM extended fullest support to ensure that justice be delivered at the earliest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
NSUI state unit: <\/strong>Condemning the \u201cdespicable and reprehensible\u201d behaviour of professor Sarat Chandra Yenisetti, the National Students Union of India (NSUI) Nagaland state unit said that as an educator, he had grossly \u201cbetrayed\u201d the trust and integrity of his position, exhibiting \u201ca shocking lack of decency, professionalism, and respect for his peers.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n NSUI Nagaland through its social media chairman said that such \u201cheinous actions\u201d were \u201cutterly unacceptable\u201d in the society and warranted severe consequences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n NSUI stated that the recent incident was not an isolated case, adding that many students have had unpleasant experiences in the past as well.
