Four accused involved in the kidnap and brutal murder of late Prasenjit Dhar on October 16 whose badly mutilated body was recovered at Borlingri Tea Estate Karbi Anglong on October 19, were arrested last month and paraded by Dimapur Police on Monday\nThe first three accused were arrested from Lotha colony on February 6, while the fourth person was arrested on February 18. On interrogation, the four accused confessed of their involvement in the killing of the businessman.
\nPolice said five persons were involved while the main accused, identified as one John K. Akhan Pomei \u201cLt\u201d NSCN (I-M) was absconding. Quoting the confessions of the accused, additional SP V. Z. Angami said the businessman was kidnapped and taken to Lotha colony, Oriental, Dimapur . Later the accused phoned the victim\u2019s family while moving in a car and demanded a ransom of Rs 2 crore. The victim was later taken to the Tea Estate, at Borlingri, Assam where he was badly tortured and throat slit with a knife.
\nPolice disclosed that an appeal was made to the DGP\u2019s office to take up the matter with the Cease Fire Monitoring Group (CFMG) in order to have the main accused handed over for prosecution.
\nThe four accused were identified as Subin Mandal (26) alias Robin from Bihar, a Medical Representative ; Sujit Saha (28) son of late Tulsi Saha from Agartala, who acted as the informer for the gang; \u201cSergeant\u201d NSCN (I-M), Amonv Tarao (27) alias Amos from Chandal district, Manipur and Libemo Ezung (40) son of late Ethao Ezung, Wokha district.
\nPolice also recovered one M 20 pistol, seven live rounds, a magazine, one 9MM pistol with four live rounds, one magazine, one .32 pistol, I magazine and 5 live rounds and three Burmese made knives from their possession.
\nPolice further disclosed that the same gang was involved in the kidnapping of one Dilip Saha, super lottery agent at Dobhinala, Dimapur on September 27, 2008.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
