Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio told the assembly that the government required 105 EACs, but that it had 59 EACs only at present. He said nine EACs were under going training and that 10 EACs have been newly recruited this year.<br \/>\n\u201cThere is an acute shortage of officers at the EAC level because of which all the administrative posts cannot be manned,\u201d Rio stated in a written reply to Congress MLA Joshua, who asked whether any EAC has been posted at Ghathashi to which he also replied \u201cno\u201d. Joshua demanded that an EAC be posted to Ghathashi. \u201cLet the posting be immediately done after the election process is over\u201d he demanded. Rio also said \u201can exercise is being carried out for posting of EACs on probation and on completion of their training, postings will be considered\u201d. In their supplementary, the opposition Congress members were highly critical of the recent spate of upgradations of various administrative units by the DAN government and demanded to know what were the criteria required for the creation or upgradation of the new head quarters. K L Chishi blasted the government and advised it  not to go on creating new headquarters for the sake of \u201ccheap popularity\u201d and added,  \u201cWe have to go by reality and not by inspiration.\u201d<br \/>\nChief minister Rio replied that the government was taking up developmental activities vigorously and that the EAC Headquarters were created on  the recommendation of District Re-Organization  Administrative Report etc.and the criteria depending on the population, area and backwardness of the  area.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nagaland government Friday admitted that it was facing acute shortage of officers in the level of EAC.
