\nForest fire at Chiechama
\nKOHIMA: Forest fire broke out at the proposed Ciethu Air Field area in Chiechama village on March 12. Informing this in a press release, Chiechama village Council said the forest fire had destroyed more than 2500 \u2018thac\u2019 of firewood. The fire which broke out from Gar\u00fc River under Nerhema jurisdiction was yet to be extinguished, the council said in a press statement.

\nDIMAPUR: A three-day basic foundation course for VDBs of Tuensang district concluded on March 19. \nDIMAPUR: Changtongya administrative sub-division standing committee was constituted under the directive of deputy commissioner (ARO) Mokokchung. The sub-standing committee would be responsible to ensure free, fair and peaceful conduct of the ensuing general election to the Lok Sabha. \nMedical camp held at Monyakshu
\nDIMAPUR: As reported by the village council and village health committee of Monyakshu village on outbreak of diarrhoea which left 12 people dead within a span of two weeks, a mobile medical team led by Dr. Yingnei rushed to Monyakshu village and conducted a free medical camp on March 18. According to an official bulletin, altogether 398 patients, mostly children below 8 years were treated and given free medicine.

\nDIMAPUR: BSNL has replied to Shamator Town Students\u2019 Union (STSU) in regard to the latter\u2019s news item that was published in a local daily on March 15 under the heading \u2018STSU apprises CGM BSNL.\u2019 In reply to the statement, the PRO, BSNL, Dimapur, in a press release said that sincere efforts have been made to activate the GSM BTS tower by April as the official fibre cable jointing works were in progress.
