Intent of Trump has come out to the open. Trump is basically is involved in real-estate business and made billions of dollars. In his first term in office as the president Trump received $1 as his salary and he would follow similar position even in this tenure too. In his election campaigns he used a rhetoric \u2018Make American Great Again; (MAGA), which has become a movement for the far-right white Americans and white American Evangelical Zionists. America is a great country topping the economic and military power in the world and thus enjoys as the world\u2019s most power country.
A question that arises here is: What does he mean \u2018Make America Great Again\u2019? It is now clear. MAGA is not just a political or economic slogan, there is more to it. Contours of a \u2018Greater America\u2019, a geographical and cartographic entity began to take shape in the last few eeks in the public sphere after US President-elect Donald Trump in all seriousness urged Canada to Merge with the United States and renewed the idea of buying Greenland from Denmark. Trump unveiled New Map. He wants to change the name from Gulf of Mexico to \u2018Gulf of America\u2019 and to takeover Panama Canal.
Trump revealed about his son\u2019s Don Jr trip to Greenland and said: \u201cI am hearing that the people of Greenland are \u2018MAGA\u2019. Greenland is an incredible place, and the people will benefit tremendously, if, and when, it becomes part of our Nation.
We will protect it, and cherish it, from a very vicious outside World,\u201d he posted on Truth Social platform. Shortly after landing in Greenland, Trump posted that \u201c\u2026The reception has been great. They, and the Free World, need safety, security, strength, and PEACE! This is a deal that must happen. MAGA, MAKE GREENLAND GREAT AGAIN!\u201d At the same time, in a separate post, Trump invited Canada to merge with the US, saying if it did so, \u201cthere would be no Tariffs, taxes would go way down, they would be totally secure from the threat of the Russian and Chinese Ships that are constantly surrounding them.\u201d He continues by saying that \u201cMany people in Canada LOVE being the 51st State. The US can no longer suffer the massive trade deficits and subsidies that Canada need to stay afloat. Justin Trudeau knew this, and resigned.\u201d Elaborating on it more, Trump said: \u201cTogether, what a great nation it would be!!!\u201d Invoking MAGA in the case of Greenland in a post that read: \u201cI am hearing that the people of Greenland are \u201cMAGA\u201d \u2026 MAKE GREENLAND GREAT AGAIN!\u201d
If we closely observe the empire-builders particularly Putin, Trump, and Netanyahu, and there are others who basically believe in expansionism and occupation. In this list all of them believe in the use of force. For them, geographical entities add more to their power and control. For example, if Trump\u2019s proposal gets concretized with the integration of Canada and Greenland to the United States, it would mean Northern Hemispheric nation of nearly 22 million square km larger than Russia, which it would face across the Arctic north pole. Russia is currently world\u2019s largest country of approximately 17 million sq. km. This is why both Putin and Trump are in the business of empire-building. The motive of Trump has surface candidly.
Add some more essence Elon Musk said on X that \u201cThe people of Greenland should decide their future and I think they want to be part of America\u201d. An ally of empire builders who will also benefit and be benefitting by throwing few millions to Trump elections and wants to de-stablise many countries by throwing moneys.
Leaders in both Greenland and Canada scoffed at the proposal. Greenland is \u201cnot for sale and will never be for sale, the territorial PM Mute Egede said despite pressing for independence. Aaja Chemniz, another Greenlandic politician expressed disbelief that there are people who \u201cbelieve that happiness will be achieved if we become American citizens\u201d. Canadian Conservative party Pierre Poilievre aligned with MAGA Republicans said that his message to Trump is that \u201cfirst and foremost Canada will never be the 51st state of US.\u201d
Trump was eyeing for these moves in his first term. According to the book The Divider: Trump in the White House, 2017-2021, disclose that the then national security adviser John Bolton and his aide Fiona Hill were engaged in secret talks with Denmark and produced an options memo that included ideas like an enhanced security arrangement but not outright purchase or leasing that Trump was keen on.
This why Trump was careful not to antagonize Putin. A new world order is emerging. America and Russia are now a new hegemony and these two the world most powerful forces have come together on one plank or one basic common principle\u2014empire building that believes in expansionism and occupation.
Putin and Trump believe in conquests by force. By having powerful military and army and technological superiority threaten the neighboring countries so that they give-in to the whims and fancies of the empire-builders. Take for instance, Ukraine and Greenland known for fertile lands and rich minerals and other resources and so the neo-colonial hegemonic powers want to invade or intimidate or wilt these countries\u2019 resolve. It is ironic that America talks about democracy, freedom, and rule of law. Trump is professionally a builder having invested millions of dollars in real-estate business.
Now he is using the 2.0 term to expand his Trump empire for which he will be using executive powers. This is why even in his first term as well as during this period in many ways shows his support for Putin going to the extent of stopping the Russian-Ukrainian war in 24-hours.
Before becoming the president of the United States, he even said that the whatever Putin conquered in Ukraine be considered as part of Russia\u2019s. Russia and America are involved in expanding their geographical borders. As of now both believe in the underlying principles of empire-building. We will have to wait and see in the coming how it is going to turn out. However, Putin\u2019s strategy by creating wedge between United States and EU\/NATO seem to be working.
