NSCN (I-M) Thursday objected to the \u2018information\u2019 served on all the village heads of Tirap, Changlang and Longding districts of Arunachal by officer commanding (OC) Wakka COB, 44 Assam Rifles dated Jan 15, 2025.
NSCN (I-M) through its MIP claimed that as per OC\u2019s information \u201cThere should be no recruitment of men by NSCN(IM), NSCN(KYA), NSCN(Reble) and ULFA-I in your respective villages. Any information of such activity shall be informed to \u2018D\u2019 Coy \u2018Wakka COB\u2019, 44 Assam Rifles at the earliest\u201d. NSCN (I-M) also said the OC cautioned the villages of taking legal action if recruitment took place and not informing the OC.
\u201cSuch high-handed information served to the villages has nothing to do with the Ceasefire Ground Rules\u201d as agreed upon between the Government of India and NSCN, MIP stated. Acknowledging that the main concern of the GoI was about the reports of forced recruitment, the NSCN (I-M) has, however, affirmed that they have not and do not resort to forced recruitment. In the light of the ceasefire ground rules, NSCN (I-M) said the information emanating from \u201ca mere CO of AR Battalion\u201d was \u201cabsolutely disgusting and disgraceful\u201d for the Nagas of Arunachal in particular and for the whole Nagas in general.
\u201cFor the NSCN spearheading the movement to defend the historical and political rights of the Naga nation, this matter is an affront to the dignity of the Nagas,\u201d MIP stated.
Therefore, NSCN (I-M) has condemned the CO, Wakka COB for his information to the village heads on recruitment that was not within his purview. \u201cWhat is not his business he should stay away from such issue in the future,\u201d NSCN (I-M) cautioned.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
