\nSaying that one cannot casually afford to resign and go back to the people for re-election within two months unless their personal gain was \u201ctremendous,\u201d Chairman, NPCC Media Cell, R. Paphino asked the following: what prompted the four MLAs to give up their seats ; why were they re-contesting again after they have already rejected\/denounced their seats and with what justification were they now \u201c begging the voters\u201d to support them again? .
\nSlamming the four for \u201cthrowing all tall democratic values, ideals and genuine practices to the wind\u201d Paphino said they have completely betrayed the trust and confidence of the people they had represented.Terming their resignations as the first of its kind in Indian political history,Paphino said the four had undermined the value and precious votes of the people by reducing these to waste papers.
\nHe said after the four resigned and now again seeking people\u2019s votes, Paphino said it was like selling one\u2019s paddy field to someone else for huge sum and later still claiming ownership of the paddy field.
\nIn light of the entire \u201cbizarre dramatic political scene,\u201d in which the four former MLAs fulfilled \u201ctheir lust for greed of money and covetous facilities\u201d, the NPCC asserted that their attempt to seek fresh mandate needed to be concertedly crushed in the ensuing by-elections. \u201cThis is the greatest opportunity for the voters of the constituencies to reject the corrupt and immoral leaders so that they are put into the category of persona-non-grata,\u201d NPCC added.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
