Imkong Saturday urged upon the Nagas to send a rational person and a well known personality at the centre to the Parliament so as to enjoy the fruits of the UPA, which he hoped would return to power for the second consecutive term.<br \/>\nImkong while campaigning for Congress\u2019 Lok Sabha candidate, K. Asungba Sangtam said the former two-time MP was the ideal leader to represent the Nagas at the centre.<br \/>\n\u201cThe future of the Nagas lies in your hands. Make the right choice, vote for the Congress to secure the life and future of our generations to come,\u201d Imkong said according to his press secretary. He reminded the people that it was because of Asungba that the Nagas were enjoying better communication facilities such as cellular network and OFC connectivity, new train services such as Rajdhani Express and Jan Shatabdi, better air services to the state besides many other developmental activities.<br \/>\nImkong, while touring various villages under 21-Tuli, 30-Alongtaki and 22-Arkakong Assembly Constituencies under Mokokchung district on April 3 and 4 also called upon all sections of the people and various political parties to join hands and vote for a better and brighter Nagaland which he said was possible only through the Congress party.<br \/>\n\u201cWe need to unite and elect the INC candidate, then only the Nagas can enjoy the fruits of the UPA which is coming to power again,\u201d he said.<br \/>\nHeeding the call, Senti Ozukum (RJD president, 21-Tuli A\/C) and Sentong (Independent president, 21-Tuli A\/C) declared their unflinching support to the INC candidate. The Village Council and youths of Molungkimong and the Village Councils of Molungyimsen and Yimjenkimong also assured the entourage that they would cast their votes in favour of the Congress.<br \/>\nImkong was accompanied by MLAs Nungsangyapang (23-Impur A\/C) and T. Sentichuba (24-Angetyongpang), Ayang Aonok (NPCC vice president), Chubatoshi (NPCC member), I. Nungkum Jamir (DCC Mkg president), Imtimeren (DCC Mkg vice president), Tia (DCC Mkg gen secy), Noksang (29-Jangpetkong ACCC president) including a host of party workers from various constituencies.<br \/>\nThe entourage campaigned in Molungyimsen, Luyong, Merangkong, Tzudikong and Tuli Town (21-Tuli A\/C), Unger (22-Arkakong) and Molungkimong and Yimjenkimong (30-Alongtaki A\/C).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Former CLP leader and senior Congress MLA I.
