Setsacho, and general secretary, Hepong Sangtam, stated that the YVU had lodged a complaint to the authority on March 13 but lamented that even after a month; the authority had not taken any actions.<br \/>\n\u201cBeing the highest disciplined service in the state, the so called police\/jawans should not hide away from their responsibilities, but rather award befitting punishment to the erring jawans,\u201d the release added.<br \/>\nAlso stating that it was the bounden duty of the police personnel to arrest and keep the guilty persons under their custody and punish him or her according to the law, the security guard had instead attempted to murder Chumkise Sangtam without any rhyme or reason thereby showing disrespect to police of the state, the USSC has supported the demand of YVU for immediate arrest of the culprits who were involved in the incident and compensate the victim as demanded by YVU within a specific period of time.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>United Sangtam Students\u2019 Conference (USSC) has supported Yingshikur Village Union\u2019s (YVU) ultimatum to SP Dimapur in regard to the attempted murder of Chumkise Sangtam on March 12 evening allegedly by security guards of SP office, Dimapur.
