\nNPCC general secretary in-charge media cell, S. Supongmeren Jamir accused Rio of speaking two things on a single issue.
\nIt said Rio had the habit of flip-flopping on important issues and denying a statement in Nagaland which he had said in Delhi and vice versa.
\nThe NPCC reiterated that the chief minister kept on changing his colours, like a \u201cchameleon\u201d to acclimatize with the given political situation.
\nIt slammed NPF associate press secretary, Shilumar Ao who issued the clarification and advised him not to \u201cdefend an indefensible leader of his party.\u201d
\nThe NPCC alleged that the \u201cimmoral question\u201d of keeping three wives by the DAN consensus candidate for the Lok Sabha, C.M. Chang was a common knowledge and also talk of all the towns and villages.
\nThe NPCC said it was unfortunate that Rio had acknowledged the concept of keeping two-three wives as a Naga way of life and culture.
\nIt also alleged that Rio, exhibiting his \u201cdeceptive behaviour,\u201d was now trying to renounce his comment through an innocent young gentleman (Shilumar Ao) after finding the \u201cheat unbearable.\u201d
\nThe NPCC however asserted that the truth was left for the Naga people to judge and that the truth cannot be undone now by Rio nor accepted by anyone.
\nIt pointed out that the conduct of the DAN\u2019s consensus candidate for the Lok Sabha election was a taboo for all the Naga Christians and called for condemning and rejecting such \u201cundesirable conduct of our leaders.\u201d
\nThe NPCC said it was \u201cabsurd\u201d that the NPF\u2019s had thoroughly diverted the important issues raised by it and instead raked up the President\u2019s Rule issue to mislead the public
\nIt reiterated that the President\u2019s Rule was imposed in Nagaland as per provisions enshrined in the Constitution of India.
\nThe NPCC said it has raised pertinent issues like the NPF\u2019s approach and initiative on solution of Naga political problem, development, welfare programs, law and order management, corruption, scams and scandals, etc during the parliamentary election campaign throughout the state.
\nIt rubbished the NPF\u2019s claim of maintaining the highest respect for the laid down Election Model Code of Conduct to strengthen democracy.
\nIn contrary, the NPCC said it had traced out as many as 12 instances of model code violation by the NPF Party like transfer of teachers, village feasts, misuse of Government machineries, cash donation, threat\/intimidation to INC workers restoration of Mokokchung Municipal Advisory Council, appointment of liaison officer, tender notices etc.
\nThe NPCC claimed it was \u201cconscious\u201d about the rule of law and that there was not an iota of complaint against Congress Party. \u201cEven some NPF senior leaders themselves said that there is no complaint,\u201d it claimed.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
