The two-day-long 53rd Games & Sports Meet 2025, organized by the Angami Sports Association (ASA), concluded on Wednesday at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The event brought together sportspersons from four ranges\u2014Southern Angami Sports Association (SASA), Northern Angami Sports Association (NASA), Western Angami Youth Organization (WAYO), and Chakhroma Youth Organization (CYO)\u2014who competed in football, volleyball, and Sepaktakraw.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking at the valedictory function as the guest of honour, Angami Public Organization (APO) president Thejao Vihienuo lauded ASA for successfully organizing the tournament. He emphasized that sportspersons are the pride and strength of the Angami community and encouraged young athletes to strive for excellence in their respective disciplines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe are proud of you,\u201d Vihienuo was quoted as saying, while also advising the participants to uphold a spirit of goodwill and discipline in order to achieve success in life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Prizes for the winners of the football event were presented by Vihienuo, while the president of the Angami Youth Organization, Kesosul Christopher Ltu, and the president of the Angami Women Organization, Neithono Sothu, handed over the prizes for the Sepaktakraw and volleyball events, respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The football matches were officiated by the Kohima District Football Referee Board, while the Kohima District Volleyball Association and the Nagaland Sepaktakraw Referee Association oversaw the volleyball and Sepaktakraw events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
ASA vice president (Organisation) Thinovilie Keyho chaired the closing ceremony, while ASA general secretary Menguphrezo Ziephr\u00fc delivered the vote of thanks. Ziephr\u00fc expressed gratitude to all patrons, prize sponsors, match officials, the Youth Resources & Sports department, DC Kohima, Nagaland Football Association, first aid teams, frontal organizations, and individuals who contributed to the success of the meet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
