However, SKK lamented that nothing has been implemented pragmatically. “The approvals and assurances remain on paper, with no tangible progress on the ground,” SKK stated.

The union also reminded that the cabinet meeting held on December 17, 2007, under the leadership of chief minister Neiphiu Rio, approved the upgradation of KPA to a degree college level.

However, even after decades since the approval, SKK said nothing has been implemented in practice. SKK has, therefore, demanded that the state government take immediate and tangible actions to upgrade KPA to a full-fledged engineering college, as approved and accredited by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and National Board of Accreditation (NBA) within 15 days. “We expect a comprehensive plan with a clear timeline for implementation, including the allocation of necessary funds and resources,” the union added.

SKK emphasized that upgradation of KPA was a long-standing demand, and the government should not adopt a biased approach. “Justice demands that the government implements the upgradation without further delay, ensuring equal opportunities for the students of Nagaland,” it added. Failure to comply with its demand, SKK warned that it would be compelled to utilize “all forms of democratic means available to us to ensure justice is served.”

All Sümi Students’ Union (SKK) has expressed serious concern and disappointment over the “inordinate delay” in upgrading Khelhoshe Polytechnic Atoizu (KPA) to a full-fledged engineering college.

[679

post-471515","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","category-nagaland-news
["GET
