Therie assaulted; repoll demanded"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/>Citing total break down of law and order situation and complete violation of Election Model Code of Conduct in Razeba HQ Polling Station no 19, under 17 \u2013 Chizami A\/C, the NPCC has demanded re-polling there.<br \/>\nNPCC president, KV Pusa said the party candidate K. Therie and his companion V. Lasuh, a former INC candidate, were assaulted allegedly by NPF supporters when Therie detected a bogus voting taking place.<br \/>\nThe NPCC said Therie was restrained from lodging complaint with the Presiding Officer of the polling station due to the mob fury.<br \/>\nThe NPCC said the area which is dominated by the NPF was gripped by fear psychosis as the latter  indulged in threat, coercion and intimidation  throughout the polling process. It held the ruling party responsible for obstructing the INC voters in exercising their franchise.<br \/>\n  \u201cIn view of the gravity of the situation in this Polling station where Election Model Code of Conduct have completely ceased to operate, the NPCC demand that Re-polling is invoked in the aforesaid polling station,\u201d it  demanded.<br \/>\n Meanwhile, Therie in a letter addressed to the Sector Magistrate, Razeba Headquarter, demanded re-poll  after detection of a bogus voter. Therie, stated that on his query, one person identified himself as  Danyi but held a voter slip in the name  of Lokho .<br \/>\nWhen Therie   asked the \u201cbogus voter\u201d to cast   vote in his own name, he alleged NPF supporters turned into a mob and manhandled him(Therie) and did not allow him to   remain within the vicinity of the polling station.<br \/>\n  Former INC candidate V. Lasuh who was also in the vicinity, was attacked and hit on the head with a stick, Therie said. Further he also said the womenfolk surrounded and pushed him to the vehicle to prevent further assault.  Therie  alleged that he did not even get the opportunity to reach the Presiding Officer to register complaint owing to the mob that had gathered at the Polling Station.<br \/>\nHe claimed the incident created a fear psychosis which discouraged the INC voters and  as a consequence,  violating the Election Code of Conduct.<br \/>\nIn addition , Therie also demanded re-polling in Razeba Headquarter Polling Station Part No. 19.<br \/>\nMeanwhile, NPCC media cell chairman, R. Paphino accused NPF leaders and workers of virtually hijacking the entire polling station and in the process they manhandling the INC candidate K. Therie and attacking former INC candidate V. Lasuh who sustained head injury.<br \/>\nCondemning  the incident,Paphino said the NPF party workers created   lawlessness, suppressing democracy and contravening  the Election Code of Conduct.
