Leaders of Naga political groups (NPGs) including Working Committee of NNPGs led by the convener N. Kitovi Zhimomi along with all the co-conveners and the collective leadership of the NSCN\/GPRN (Khango-Hokato Vusshe) met government of India (GoI) representative AK Mishra in Dimapur on February 19 and 20 respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WC\/NNPGs: <\/strong>The working committee through its media cell stated that it acknowledged AK Mishra for his visit to expedite the long-anticipated \u201cIndo-Naga\u201d political solution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the meeting, the WC said it underscored the importance of establishing and reconfiguring a unified common platform that facilitated the participation of all NPGs, civil societies, and relevant stakeholders. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Further, WC informed that it was also sincerely committed to protect and sacrifice the hard earned \u201cAgreed position\u201d at any cost. However, WC stated that since the need of the hour was to unite all NPGs irrespective of any party or affiliations, it was \u201ceven ready to go up to the extent of changing its nomenclature from WC\/NNPGs to any suitable names.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It said the duties of WC had completed when the \u201cAgreed Position\u201d was signed with the GoI on November 17, 2017 and subsequently completed the negotiations on October 31, 2019, with a clear intention to accommodate all NPGs on board, who may not be a part of any agreement or nonagreement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
MIP said the collective leadership apprised the representative of the GoI, the stance of the NSCN(K) and the Naga National Political Alliance\u2019s (NNPA) desire, \u201cechoing the aspiration of the Nagas, for an early amicable and honorable solution, one that includes all the stakeholders.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
MIP said the representatives of the Government of India were also apprised of the present Naga political landscape, which has \u201cshifted from the focus on sincere implementation of the existing agreements to a struggle over ownership and legitimacy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
MIP said that \u201cthis ambiguity\u201d has perplexed the Nagas and the NNPA. To ensure an inclusive solution, the MIP said NSCN(K) on behalf of the NNPA, reiterated its stance, as expressed to the representatives of GoI in the previous official meetings, that NNPA would present its own \u201cCharter of Demands\u201d\/Competencies, which would be a crucial part of the proposed \u201cCommon Draft\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, MIP said NSCN(K) categorically emphasized that the \u201cCompetencies\u201d should be agreed upon by the Government of India by sitting across the table for any further steps to be executed for the final solution.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
