Western S\u00fcmi Youth Front (WSYF) has expressed deep concern over the mushrooming of anti-social elements in the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
WSYF president Atokiho Sumi and general secretary Botoho Achumi in a press release said the recent incidents of harassments, extortions, and threats had not gone unheeded, adding that they had grave concern over the welfare of the evolving society which they stood to protect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Asserting that peace, progress, brotherhood and protecting the sanctity of the land stood paramount, they strictly warned those who believed they could operate outside the law, burdening innocent people with illegal levies, extortion, and coercion. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
They declared that such actions would not be tolerated under any circumstances, warning all antisocial elements in the society working from within the very fabric they yearned to protect, disturbing the lives of people, and disrupting normal businesses to desist from practising such illegal means and ways, or face the consequences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For long, they noted that such sprouting elements had caused nothing less than moral turpitude among peace-loving citizens and residents. When the business communities and entrepreneurs were unfairly taxed or extorted, they pointed out that the cost was ultimately passed down to consumers, employees, and the broader community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Reiterating that the WSYF stood as an advocate for peace and serenity in matters related to public affairs and well being of the society, they mentioned that the youth would not allow such unlawful forces to thrive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They underscored that a progressive society required a secure and lawful environment where people could work, trade, and interact freely without fear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
While acknowledging and appreciating the tireless efforts of the law enforcement agencies in maintaining order and protecting businesses from criminal activities, and their role is critical in ensuring a fair and just economic environment, they urged them to do even more in addressing this pressing issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They maintained that strengthening enforcement, enhancing accountability, and taking decisive action against those who exploited businesses through illegal means would go a long way in restoring confidence in the economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They called upon the government to focus on strong legal frameworks, efficient law enforcement, and policies that encouraged ethical business practices, adding \u201cOnly then can economic prosperity, social harmony, and national development be truly realised.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They assured full assistances and cooperation to the administration and law enforcement agencies to work towards a common objective and ushering in peace and tranquility. They also assured assistance to anyone in need facing uncertainties and hardships pertaining to law offenders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
