All Nagaland College Students\u2019 Union (ANCSU) has appealed to the state government to urgently post principals to Dimapur government college (DGC), Zunheboto government college (ZGC) and Wangkhao government college (WGC).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a representation addressed to the commissioner & secretary higher education and technical, ANCSU president Tenyesinlo Bukh and general secretary Kivinoka A Sema expressed disappointment over the department\u2019s continued inaction regarding the vacant principal posts in DGC, ZGC and WGC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Despite repeated appeals, ANCSU said those critical positions remain unfilled, severely impacting academic and administrative functioning. The union said that absence of principals in those three colleges has created confusion among students, faculty, and staff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis void is especially concerning as these colleges prepare for NAAC Assessment and Accreditation and work towards implementing the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020,\u201d ANCSU stated. It said that transition to postgraduate programmes demanded academically qualified and experienced leadership, which cannot be compromised.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In light of the above, ANCSU has urged the department to immediately appoint principals in those colleges as per the Nagaland Higher Education Service Rules 2015 and avoid further disruption.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Further, the union also demanded the immediate removal of the retired principal and professor currently managing college affairs. It cautioned that department\u2019s failure to act within seven days would compel the Union to \u201cinitiate democratic protests\u201d to safeguard students\u2019 academic interests and faculty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The union said there was no valid reason for further delays given that this issue has been raised multiple times. ANCSU urged the department to act decisively and prevent unnecessary confrontation with the student community.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
