NSCN (I-M) has strongly condemned what it called the \u201cIndian state terrorism and its divide and conquer\u201d strategy, alleging that New Delhi is engaging in instigation and conspiracy with pro-India \u201cnon-political Naga ruling elites\u201d and its \u201cown employees\u201d to derail the Indo-Naga peace process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a press statement issued through its MIP, the NSCN ((I-M) accused Government of India (GoI) of failing to resolve the Indo-Naga political conflict through political negotiations.
NSCN (I-M) said that Centre, instead of resolving the decades old Indo-Naga political conflict based on the letter and spirit of the officially agreed Amsterdam Joint Communiqu\u00e9 (AJC) of July, 2022 and the Framework Agreement (FA), has resorted to divisive tactics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It also clarified that it had never given its consent or endorsement to the GB Federation, Nagaland for initiating a consultative meeting with apex tribal bodies to find any solution apart from the Framework Agreement of 2015.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
NSCN (I-M) said that before the signing of the \u201ctreacherous\u201d 1975 Shillong Accord with some members of the NNC, the Government of India (GoI) entered into an agreement with its \u201cown employees\u201d and \u201cnon-political body\u201d, leading to the formation of the present puppet Nagaland state. The group said that this strategy was the single most important reason why there is no solution to the Indo-Naga political conflict.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Furthermore, NSCN (I-M) asserted that any accord or agreement signed by\/with any group under the Indian Constitution, \u201cexcluding the non-negotiable sovereign Nagalim national flag and constitution, is a betrayal of the Nagalim national decision of August 14, 1947, and the May 16, 1951 plebiscite, for a sovereign independent Nagalim nation.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It said that the chief political negotiator and ato kilonser, Th. Muivah, reaffirmed its position that the only honorable and acceptable Indo-Naga political agreement shall be according to the letter and spirit of AJC and FA, officially recognizing and acknowledging the sovereign Nagalim national flag and sovereign Nagalim national constitution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To this end, NSCN (I-M) said it had consistently taken its political position and decision on Nagalim\u2019s unique history and national principle on sovereignty on May 31, 2022.
Earlier, on July 23, 2019, and January 18, 2023, it said that NSCN members, led by the collective leadership, reaffirmed their decision to defend the national principles and the letter and spirit of AJC and FA, \u201cto the last, come what may.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Subsequently, it said that on November 7, 2024, Muivah had declared the non-negotiable government political position on \u2018Nagalim unique history\u201d, \u201cNagalim sovereignty and freedom\u201d,\u201cNagalim sovereign territory\u201d, \u201cNagalim sovereign national flag\u201d and \u201cNagalim sovereign national constitution\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In his thanksgiving speech on March 20, 2025, marking the reaffirmation and declaration of the NSCN\/GPRN collective leadership- chairman, vice-chairman and general secretary, Muivah reiterated that the AJC and FA remain non-negotiable and serve as the final benchmark for an honorable negotiated political settlement between Nagalim and India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
NSCN (I-M) said that the Government of India and NSCN initiated the political negotiations on August 1, 1997, with the aim of reaching an honorable and acceptable political agreement. NSCN maintained if New Delhi desires a negotiated political settlement, the political agreement must be according to letter and spirit of AJC and FA, officially recognizing and acknowledging the sovereign Nagalim national flag and constitution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Therefore, NSCN (I-M) laid out three core non-negotiable issues if New Delhi sincerely desires an honorable and lasting political agreement with NSCN and Nagalim:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
